LABIS MULTI-PURPOSE CANOPIES

These canopies are very popular because of their many uses and ways to set them up. I make them out of highly mildew and water-resistant cotton canvas, or a synthetic type of canvas. It is also possible to go with a poly/cotton mix canvas.
Each corner, mid-ways as well as the centre has a pole pocket which handles any kind of 1" to 2" thick pole from the forest. The corners are re-enforced and have heavy duty grommets in front of the pole pockets. Depending on the size of the canopy, it may have more grommets and pole pockets.
An added option is to have pull-away velcro mosquito-netting along the edge of the canopy.

Various proven methods for set ups: 1.) strung between 2 trees (there is a webbing reenforcing the centre to do this)and the corners can be tied to the ground with ropes. This way there are no poles necessary. This works well with a hammock.

2.) three corners tied right to the ground, a 5' or 6' pole in the centre pocket and one pole in the last corner pocket to the front. This way you have a cozy sitting corner, nicely sheltered out of the wind and weather.

3.) with poles strung over a picknic table either in shed roof style or wing style.

4.) with 2 poles mid-way and the corners tied to the ground, you have a quick tent style shelter out of bad weather.

5.)two poles midway (or strung between 2 trees), half hung and tied to the ground, and the remaining 2 corners tied high to trees or poles, you have a stand up shelter out of the weather with one wall.
