Camp Kitchens (or
booth for a fair, mark: it is not free standing)
In Canada we are dealing with Bear Challenges. You do not want a Bear
to smell food in your Tipi or Yurt and come to visit you. In most areas
you will have to put up a bear rope in a
tree
for all of your food, cream or toothpaste items, ideally at least 10'
high and 5' from the trunk.
Your camp kitchen should be at least 50' from your sleeping quarters
and be kept extremely clean. No dirty dishes or left-over foods or toothbrushes.
I have done a lot of wilderness camping in Canada and had minimal problems
with those majestic, wonderful creature cousins of the wild.
Out of necessity I designed a simple, very efficient camp kitchen. This
size of tent has 8 pole pockets. I can carry in just the canvas and
will most likely have easy access to enough dead wood to make myself
these poles.
It has counter space in the back, the front canopy can be let down and
closed with convenient slip ties. The 3 sided wall detaches from the
roof in one piece. My choice of high quality canvas is mildew and water
resistant and water repellent, or synthetic fibres (there are a variety
to choose from).
Example: 2.60m x 1.70m, 1 back
netting window, wall and roof=2 pieces, front wall acts as a canopy
and can be tied shut. Also great use as craft stand, etc.

designs...**
The
Canvas Outhouse is easy to set up. All 4 walls can be rolled
up individually, to give you the privacy from where you need it and
still keep the view, if you got one!
